A mobile crane overturned in Bangkok yesterday, with the boom falling across rail tracks and landing on two cars, injuring one person.
The incident occurred near Don Muang train station on the north side of the city yesterday morning, the crane owned by the Italian Thai construction company, was working on a new station on a new elevated electric train track, from Laksi to Don Muang, when it appears that the ground gave way under one of the rear outriggers, causing the crane to overturn.
Two cars were struck by the falling boom
A man, 39, was sitting in one of the vehicles and was injured, although we do not know how seriously, but we understand that the injuries are not life threatening. The other car was unoccupied at the time. Trains in the area were also disrupted while emergency services removed the crane.
