A large All Terrain owned by crane rental company Riga Mainz at its yard in Mainz, Germany, on Sunday when an employee forgot to set the outriggers.
Thankfully no one was seriously injured in the incident. According to the police, an employee was cleaning the crane and slewed the crane, to pressure wash the underside of the superstructure. However he overlooked extending and setting the outriggers. After raising the boom a little, he began slewing over the side, but with no counterweight and a low boom angle, the crane tipped, with the boom landing on a van and the wash down area with its equipment.
The employee did sustain a minor injury, as his arm caught the cab door when the crane went over.
