Hallandale Beach, Florida
A construction worker died when a crane toppled Thursday morning in the Golden Isles area of Hallandale Beach, officials said.
Authorities were notified of the incident at 466 Alamanda Drive about 9:40 a.m., said Hallandale Beach Police Capt. Sonia Quinones.
The Overturned Crane
According to Quinones, investigators were told that as the crane was being moved within the work site it started to wobble, became unsteady and fell over.
“As it started to flip over, the construction workers took off running and unfortunately one of those construction workers was struck by the boom and killed instantly,” she said.
The name of the man who was killed has not been released.
