A boom truck lifting roof trusses overturned onto a partially built house in the Plum area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, yesterday.
The crane was set up OK and the ground held firm in spite of the absence of mats.
No one was injured or hurt in the incident, it is clear from the photos – and confirmed by the emergency services – that the overturn was caused by a simple overload, taking too many roof trusses too far out for the size of the crane.
The new build site is one of several being developed by Ryan Homes in the greater Pittsburgh area.
