A 24-year-old man was taken to St. John Medical Center in serious condition Sunday after accidentally brushing up against a power line, Tulsa Emergency Medical Services Authority spokeswoman Kellie Bruer said.
Tulsa Fire Department Capt. Tom Gillespie said the man was in a cherry picker about 25-30 feet in the air when he touched the line about 4:30 p.m.
“He possibly just brushed up against it,” Gillespie said. “It looked like he was working for a private company. He wasn’t a city employee.”
Gillespie said it appeared the man was working on the Fairview Court Apartments, 215 W. Fairview St. when he was injured.
