A 39-year-old man died this morning when a crane, hooked to a pile of metal material, hit an electrical wire above Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville police said.
The yellow Lorain crane that hit the wire at about 9 a.m. was stamped with a Callaway Contracting Inc. sign. Callaway Contracting representatives did not return calls Friday.
The wire remained intact hanging above Normandy Boulevard near Bicentennial Drive.
It’s the second similar electrocution in less than a month in Jacksonville. A 27-year-old surveyor was killed when his lift truck bucket hit a power line above New Kings Road and Edgewood Avenue North on April 14.
