A 12-year-old boy was crushed to death under the wheels of a crane in Kurla during the cleaning operation of the Mithi river on Saturday evening. The driver, Kamran Khan (22), has been arrested for rash and negligent driving. Khan was hired on contract by the MMRDA. The victim, Abdul Aziz, was a student of Std VII and lived at Kismat Nagar, Kurla (W).
The Kurla police arrested 22-year-old Kamran Khan for rash and negligent driving killing a 12-year-old Abdul Aziz on Saturday around 6pm. Investigators said that Khan the driver of JCB crane was on contract work on behalf of MMRDA to clean the Mithi River.
The police said that Khan was clearing the river when the crane hit and crushed Aziz who was playing in the locality where the work was on. The boy was studying in class seven and was a resident of Kismat Nagar, Kurla (W).
The Kurla police arrested Khan for committing the offence.
