Crane Truck Crashes into Brockton Home

Crane's Boom Breaks into Home Massachusetts 2010A crane truck operator veered off the road about 9 a.m. Saturday and crashed through a chain-link fence and into a Brockton home in the area of Highland Street, according to police.

The truck, which belongs to Eric’s Crane Service of Abington, also knocked down utility poles and wires.

Police said the driver of the truck, who was not identified Saturday, may have suffered a seizure, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.

The victim was being treated Saturday at Brockton Hospital, police said.

Brockton police, fire and National Grid workers responded to the scene. National Grid workers temporarily cut off power in the area while surveying the damage, authorities said.

Three patrolmen were still at the scene about 7 p.m. Saturday, rerouting traffic and enforcing safety measures so power could be restored in the area, police said.
