Rollover Crash Slows Traffic on Highway 3

Big Rig Rollover in Crane Collision Washington 2010A rollover crash involving a commercial truck slowed traffic on southbound Highway 3 at Newberry Hill Road Wednesday evening.

According to Washington State Patrol, the right front tire on the the truck blew out, causing it to pull to the right. The truck left the roadway, went up an embankment and rolled, landing on the driver’s side. The truck was a 1993 Kenworth flatbed with a boom crane. The accident occurred at about 6:25 p.m.

The driver, a 55-year-old man from West Linn, Ore., suffered lacerations and had pain in his ribs. He was taken to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, where he was treated and released.

The right lane of southbound Highway 3 was blocked for a little more than an hour, according to the Washington Department of Transportation.

On Thursday morning, crews removed the truck and trailer, requiring a brief closure of the southbound Highway 3 off-ramp to Newberry Hill Road.
