A crane accident Tuesday afternoon at a bridge repair project left four men injured, officials said.
It was not clear what happened at the site just off State Route 424, about three miles east of U.S. 70 between Cedar Grove and Clarksburg.
The four were taken to three different hospitals. Jeremy Heidt, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency spokesman in Nashville, said two were more seriously hurt than the other two.
Their names were not released.
Nichole Lawrence, spokeswoman for the Tennessee Department of Transportation Region 4, told The Jackson Sun that other workers at the site were “shook up” and will be interviewed by TDOT officials Wednesday.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, but officials said TDOT will handle the investigation.
Workers at the scene said they could not comment.
