A crane toppled over at the site of a new Aurora Medical Center near Interstate 43 at Highway 60 at 7:24 a.m. Monday.
“Units responded along with fire and EMS. They found that a crane, which was moving a piece of Spancrete for the foyer area, had apparently collapsed,” Grafton Police Chief Charles Wenten said.
Hospital officials said the operator was the only person hurt. He had a minor head injury. He was treated at an area hospital but was fine, Aurora Health Care spokesman Mike Brophy said.
The crash did not damage the hospital building.
WISN 12 News called the lead construction company, Mortenson, about the crash. It said to contact Aurora, who is conducting the investigation into the incident along with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
