Camarillo Crane Accident Could Delay Metrolink Trains Today

Three Metrolink commuter trains traveling from Camarillo to Oxnard could be delayed this evening after a construction crane tipped over at the Camarillo station about 11:15 a.m. today.

The tracks are still open in Camarillo, but the trains must proceed through the station at a slower speed because of the mishap, said Angie Staff, a spokeswoman for Metrolink.

The affected trains are the 113, scheduled to leave Camarillo for Oxnard at 5:43 p.m.; the 115, scheduled to leave for Oxnard at 6:27 p.m.; and the 119, scheduled to leave at 7:55 p.m. for Oxnard.

Starr said the trains might be delayed 15 to 30 minutes.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department was notified of the mishap. Deputies were at the station off Lewis Road this afternoon investigating the accident. Other details, such as what caused the crane to tip over or if anyone was injured, were not available this afternoon.
