A 38-year old construction worker is being treated in hospital for burns to his hands and feet after the crane he was operating touched a live electrical line.
It happened just before 1:30 p.m. Monday at a work site in Richmond Hill, near Yonge and 16th Avenue.
York regional police told 680News a pipe at the end of the crane hit the hydro line, and the shock threw the operator about 15 feet into a pool of water.
The man was conscious and breathing, but paramedics had to wait for the power to be shut down before they could reach him.
