Worker Electrocuted While Fixing Power Line

A worker at a private sector company in Pitakotte that had undertaken a contract to install a power line across Indigaha Ferry Road Panadura was electrocuted when the high-tension power line he was working on came into contact with a lamp post. The victim, Padmasiri Amaratunga (47), was a resident of Malwatta road and was employed as a labourer at the company. The driver of the boom-truck lifting the lamp post was also electrocuted in the incident and was admitted to the Panadura hospital in a critical condition. Panadura police are conducting further inquiries.
