A painting contractor is recovering from a two-story fall after his crane toppled over in Staunton. The accident happened around 8 a.m. Thursday at 507 West Beverley Street.
An employee of Buck’s Painting Company was using the crane to reach the second floor of the house, but a wheel reportedly slipped over a low wall, and the crane tipped onto its side. The painter, Jeff Gilliam, was taken to Augusta Medical Center, but is expected to recover.
Department of Labor is investigating the accident.
