A construction worker was crushed to death Wednesday when part of a crane fell on him, authorities said. Raymond Paul Corder, Jr., 45, of San Gabriel was declared dead just after 3:15 p.m. at a construction site at Beach Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway. A section of the crane came loose while it was being unloaded from a truck, a Fire Department spokeswoman said. A second worker was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange with internal injuries, she said. According to The Orange County Register, Mr. Corder, died immediately from massive head trauma. Another 46-year-old man was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange.
It is also reported that the cranes were leased and delivered to the site by Bragg Crane & Rigging. According to the report Morrow Crane Company, Inc.owns the equipment.
