A crane operator was injured Thursday night when his crane toppled into a ditch.
The identity of the 38 year-old man, was not released.
He was driving the crane on SW 149 and U.S. Highway 62 when its right wheels left the roadway, authorities said.
The crane toppled over a guardrail and into a ditch. The driver was trapped in the cab, which was half-submerged in water, said Laura O’Leary, an Emergency Medical Services Authority spokeswoman.
The crane operator called 911. He complained of head, neck and shoulder pain when emergency medical crews arrived, she said.
The man was taken to a local hospital without life-threatening injuries.
