There was a crane accident on a project that Black & Veatch is doing for Florida Power & Light Company yesterday.
This was a two-block incident that pulled the jib over. There was paint left inside the hoist drum after a recent painting of the drawworks and the paint caused the frictions to malfunction. The operator was not able to disengage the hoisting fast enough to avoid two-blocking the ball into the jib.
